The Story of Umar bin Khattab and the Woman Who Commited Adultery

One day people arrested a woman who was suspected of adultery. He then presented the woman to Umar bin Khattab. After being in front of the Khalifah, the woman admitted that she had committed adultery with a male friend. Instantly, Caliph Umar bin Khattab immediately ordered that the woman be sentenced to stoning.
But Ali bin Abi Talib asked Caliph Umar to give the woman the opportunity to present her explanation. Regarding what was the reason that made him commit adultery.
Caliph Umar agreed to the proposal and the woman began to explain her chronology. The woman claimed to feel thirsty in a trip. He has no drinking water and no milk on his camel.
At that time, he then asked for a drink from a friend, whose camel still had milk. Then his friend was willing to give him a drink as long as he wanted to have sex. Hearing an answer like that, the woman immediately refused.
How could he have to sell his honor just to get a sip of drinking water. He asked for a drink three times, but his friend's answer remained the same; he will give camel milk if she wants to have sex with him.
Finally the woman felt helpless again. Feeling so bad and would have died if she did not drink the milk immediately.
Then she was forced to obey his friend's request to commit adultery in order to survive by getting drinks. Finally the woman got drinking water. Another history says that the woman asked for a drink from a shepherd.
Then the Caliph Umar held a meeting after listening to the explanation from the woman. Whether to keep stoning or release him.
Ali ibn Abi Talib who took part in the meeting convinced the caliph that the woman was innocent because she did that because she was forced and unintentionally wanted to violate or exceed the limits.
Caliph Umar finally freed the woman.
