The Shia Ubaidiyyah conspiracy with the Crusaders
When the Seljuk Islamic empire was under surveillance by the crusaders, the Ubaidiyyah Shiites who called themselves Fathimiyyah took advantage of the situation. When the crusaders were besieging Antakia, they sent envoys to the crusaders to work together to fight the Seljuk Islamic empire and make an agreement to divide the southern region (Syria) for the crusaders and the northern region (Palestine) for them. The crusaders welcomed the offer.
So, there was a battle between the crusaders and Seljuk troops. During the war between the Saljuk forces and the crusaders, the Ubaidiyyah Shiites were busy expanding their power in Pelestina which was under the Seljuk rule.
But then the crusaders betrayed their agreement and surged into the Palestinian territories in the spring of 492 AH with the strength of a thousand cavalry and five thousand invantries alone. The Ubaidiyyah forces fought them but for the sake of their land and themselves, not for jihad. Until one by one from the Palestinian territories fell into the hands of the crusaders and they were slaughtering the Muslims. They killed Muslims in front of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
